You may wonder

Why I never post pictures anymore... I suppose Chris' best friend could tell you that answer. Or the Pacific Ocean. Or my camera that is sitting on the bottom of it. Somewhere.... Hmmmm

Anyway...
So many changes in our little life. Since we sold away our life (and by sold, I mean gave away) when we moved, we have had to recreate our own life here. It's been fun. And stressful. You know the whole idea of things costing money and all?

Between Target, IKEA, and Urban Outfitters, I think things are coming together. S L O W L Y.

Both boys got new beds. Hugh, obviously, couldn't care less. J, obviously, is a freak about the whole moving situation. S T I L L. What, it's been like three years already. Gee. We bought them both matching (awwwwww) cribs. I got a killer deal on coordinating (not matching. just coordinating) bedding for both. Yes, precious it was.

It was totally awesome that the second after we move, J all of a sudden became some kind of monkey-child and decided that he will not be caged, thank-you-very-much. So, he started escaping his cell---I mean bed. After he freakishly appeared at my bedside at 3 AM one too many times, I decided something needed to be done.

I tossed around the idea of buying a crib tent, hand cuffs, or a electric-shock collar to keep him put.

After rethinking my approach, we bought him a big boy bed. A big, giant, tacky, plastic, race car bed. Because we are "those" kind of people. Why not embrace it?? It's so cool, he doesn't even sleep in it. We scored!!

And as for his super cute coordinating bedding that I bought before I bought all this other useless bed-turned-decoration-mumbo-jumbo??

It looks great sitting next to the dis-assembled matching crib.

Now, any ideas how to keep a toddler out of his infant
(Hugh is not an infant. But I am in denial) brothers bed?
LIFE IS SO EXCITING.

  1. Hahaha, I can totally relate. Eden has a cheesy, yet cute pink teddy bear bed. :-) She sleeps in it till 3AM when she crawls into the full size bed that Jonathon, I and Tex are all sleeping in...fun.
The other day I went to check on Tex who was napping in his bassinet, and who should I find lying in there with him??? Yes, I said bassinet. How does a 2 year old and a baby the size of a 1 year old fit in a basinet? I don't know. But it happened. We miss you guys.

  2. The shock collar thing sounds like a riot... promise to upload a video if you end up going with that idea.

  3. lock him in.

true story. heard it from a friend. tried it. life is normal again.

i mean of course, if they're knocking to come out you don't just leave them there ...

unless, of course, you also install a doggy door through which you can pass food and toys. then i guess you'd never really have to go in.

    i'm kidding.

but just about the doggy door.

  5. Taylor... we have too much in common. My camera is in Pennsylvania somewhere, my home is also decorated in Target/IKEA/ and Urban Outfitters. However, Tru has not crawled out of his crib yet so I'm hoping that doesn't come until he is more J's age. I'm sorry!
