What do you say

Flying across the Pacific Ocean with my two young lads, sans husband, has not always been a dream of mine. To be quite honest, the thought of it almost made me want to vomit on more than one occasion. In order to keep my sanity level at a "functioning" status, I kept the goal in mind: Don't murder anyone.

These last couple weeks have been a wirlwhind, and in order to keep the smile on my face, instaed of recounting all that occured, I'm going to simply state that we are still alive.

And a matter of fact, the plane wasn't all that bad, afterall. Humph. Who knew?

However when we unloaded the 12 or so (really... I lost count) pieces of luggage, and placed them on the sidewalk in front of the Honolulu airport, I gave my brother one last hug.

And then I cried.

I hadn't cried all week, and I thought I was doing awesome.

Hawaii. Wow. What a trip. We moved to Hawaii three years ago with high hopes and empty arms. We left with so much more.

Oh, and our Kahuku shoe-box!! What a wonderful little hole in the wall. The car we bought, we had determined, actually occupied more square feet, then our actual living space. It was perfect!! All that we needed. Not an inch more.

Our friends left to the mainland for a week or so, and let us house-sit. Afterall, their faux one-bedroom apartment could swallow our apartment whole. After throwing up all day long for a few days prior, we loooked forward to change of scenary. I had some sort of serious stomach flu bug that wouldn't go away.

While vacationing at the luxurious TVA, we found out our super hero nephew Conrad Danger was finally born...

and I longed to be with family.

We were so far away.

I woke Chris up at 2:00 AM, yelling his name from the porcelain bowl I had become well acquainted with. As he walked through the door to comfort me, instead of seeing me crouched over the toilet, I handed him a pregnancy test that said...

POSITIVE.

And that is how our Hawaiian journey started.

Hawaii made me a family.
You can't get much better than that.

So to say I will miss it.... hmmmm. There just aren't enough words.
