In all actuality, it wasn't bad at all. I was very pleasantly surprised. We had so much fun! J is a real thrasher in his sleep, we learned. I always suspected this by his million different positions we would find him in his crib, but this kid can MOVE in his sleep. I think he managed to sleep on every possible square inch of the tent floor. Easily. He didn't seem to be bugged by how hot it was, or that we were basically sleeping on the forest floor, either. He just slept the night away, peacefully thrashing. He is his father’s sun. Chris and I slept like logs, except for the occasional awakenings by me, to make sure no one had come and stolen away my child in the night: I was just sure that someone would pick our tent (of all the tents there), peek into the windows that were rolled down, so we wouldn't suffocate of heat exhaustion, and see our amazingly remarkable child, and sneak him away, with his parents sound asleep... I know, I know. Paranoia.
Anyway, it was a successful trip! No one successfully kidnapped J. And our camera died about 5 minutes into the adventure.
