Bikes

Well, my house is silent... Time to blog I guess, right?? I have felt so uninspired to blog lately. Not that I don't have anything to say, but it's really the opposite! I think my mind is so full of things I need to keep track of, and put down on paper (err... the computer screen), or else I will forget, that it actually has the opposite effect--instead of making me feel inspired and ready to roll, I feel tired. Too tired to actually do it.

However, there isn't much else for me to do today. Chris and I spent the good part of the day out and about. While I was gone to Utah (yes...I went to Utah. I know I didn't see you. I will explain more later. Don't hate.) Chris made me a brand new bike!! No, it wasn't new, and I guess he didn't actually make it, but none the less, I am in love.

**This is what J thinks about our bikes:

All of our residents moved out for Spring Semester, in order for the University to revamp the place before our Summer Guests came. After everyone left, there was around 30 bikes that were abandoned in our courtyard. Some bikes had been there since the dinosaurs roamed it seemed, while other bikes seemed spanking new. We sent out fliers, emails, etc. so students could come and claim their bikes if they were mistakenly left. After about a month of waiting, Physical Plant was on their way over to take away the rotting bikes and donate them to the dumpster. Chris took the liberty of claiming his wanted pieces from certain bikes: a tire here, a tire there, handle bars from that bike, bike seat from that one. You get the idea.

Anyway, he put together two make shift bikes from salvageable pieces, bought some paint, and went to town. I was so excited to see my new form of transportation up and ready to roll once I got off the plane. We use these bad boys daily now. Who needs a car? J can't get enough of his bike trailer, either, so we are in business. It's basically a play pin on wheels. We throw all sorts of good things in there, and off we go. More often then not, he eventually ends up passed out inside...

  1. I'm so jealous! Your bike is SO CUTE! I wanted a cute beach cruiser this year (not like I have a beach to cruise on, like you), but just couldn't justify coughing up the cash. Just know I am jealous of you.

  7. Sooooooo cool, I luv bikes, Paul and I actually have matching cruisers these days, they sit up in our apt because I don't want to lock them up with the millions downstairs. I remember when Paul and I dug a cruiser out of the dumpster at BYUH. His bran new wal-mart cruiser had just been stolen. THe dumpster bike was purple so we spray painted it black, best of all it had no brakes, he wore out many a foodland slippers trying to stop. The good ol' days :) Also did I mention that Paul today said I think that I want to take a 2 month vacation in HI. I was like um so you leave me here to make the moola. Hello not fair.
