Batman, oh Batman

Well, we saw Batman opening weekend, like apparently every-other-American did. I have been debating and debating whether to speak about this or not, but after reading post after post, ranting and raving about the movie, I simply can't remain silent anymore.

I'm sorry to ruin your day, but I really did NOT enjoy it. I thought it was really dark, and evil. After the movie, all I wanted to do was simply go throw up. I seriously felt sick.

We went with a huge group of friends in San Diego, and I was astonished that only Chris and I, along with Hanna and Cody, seemed to be the only ones leaving the theatre totally weirded out. I wondered if we all really just watched the same movie or not. Then, everywhere I look, and anyone I hear talking about it, is oooohing and aaaahing over this flick. I'm so very confused: I stayed awake the whole time! I was paying attention the whole time! I obviously missed something...

Don't get me wrong, the actors were AMAZING! I wouldn't be surprised if Heath gets an Academy Award. Really, the acting was fabulous! Maybe that's why it seemed even more creepy, because I started to forget they were acting, and accepted it as real peole. So, obviously, with that said, the acting was awesome. The cinematography was superb! I don't think the movie could have been made any better. But, it just doesn't change the fact, that I have no desire, what so ever, to ever see that movie again. Ever.

Call me a light weight, whatever, but I just thought it was awful and disgusting. It throws me threw a loop when I hear people say, "Ya, it was awesome! Kind of dark.... BUT SO AWESOME!" I guess for me, looking over the fact that it was "dark", was not such an easy task. Without ruining the movie for anyone (if I haven't already...), I just thought the whole plot, and point of the movie was evil. That's all there is to it. Evil. Everyone gets screwed. No one wins. Only evil prevailed. How could something like that be entertaining?? With good angles, and great actors, it still conveyed the same message to me.

Yuck. I only felt dirty and sick to my stomach after watching it. Sorry, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore.

  1. yeah, everyone at work was going on about how it was in their top 3. But I left the theater with a pit in my stomach. I was not impressed and I do not like feeling that way. I am astonished that so many people loved it.

  2. I'm so glad your honest. Why aren't their more people in the world like you? We haven't seen it yet, and I'm debating because of how creepy and psychotic the Joker looked in previews...it may just be a rental now in my books instead of paying top dollar to see a movie I may not like. THANK YOU!

  5. I though I was weird or something for not liking the movie. But honestly it was also too dark for me.I agree the actors were great but it doesn't make sense to me.Why would someone be acting like a freak killing people just so that they can show that there's a hero whatsoever..

  6. THanks for the warning as well, I didn't think it was one I wanted to see- just the commercials are creepy enough.

  7. It's called the Dark Knight. You can't expect rainbows and butterfly's.

  8. I thought it had a good ending... An innocent man sacrifices his freedom and life so that evil wouldn't win. I guess it all depends on if the glass is half full or half empty.

  12. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I don't understand what all the hype was about! We saw it after a lot of people and kept hearing how incredible it was. I was completely let down. I thought it was well done, but not one of my faves for sure!!!
