I already know. But....
We are going to the mainland for a few weeks during the holdiays, and I have been stressing about little J freezing to death in the cold weather. Chris and I will make due with wearing whatever we can scrounge up from boxes under our bed, but J has virtually NO "winter clothing". By "winter clothing", I mean that his wardrobe is basically t-shirts and shorts. And by basically, I mean virtually. He doesn't really even have socks, let alone shoes that fit him now!
That's what you get for living on an island.
Anyway, today I did some online shopping, because where on earth (I don't mean earth, I just mean Oahu), am I going to find winter clothing out here??? RIGHT. I immediately made a discovery: HAVE YOU SEEN HOW STINKING CUTE WINTER CLOTHES ARE FOR BABIES!!?? OH MY GOSH!! I had no idea. None.
Let me just say that by living in a place where children get away with wearing diapers all day, getting tan lines in the middle of December, and "dressing up" means that you get out your fancy slippers, actually is saving us ALOT OF MONEY!! I had to remind myself that we are only going to be gone for a few weeks, and that I don't, by any means, need to re-wardrobe my son for those few weeks, especially since once we leave the mainland, it will be back to our t-shirts, shorts, and barefeet...or fancy slippers.
Richie and I discovered that stores like WalMart actually carry winter clothes, even here in HI. . . they just get the same shipment as everyone else nationwide. We're in the same dilemma as you . . .times 3. I'm freaking out myself. I'm SO NOT acclimated to the freezing.
