I always have so much stuff that occupies my mind during the day. There is often a time where I think, "OH! I've got to write a blog about that!" and then when the time comes, I sit down at my computer, and all I can think of is J. So, sorry if you wanted to be uplifted or inspired. This entry, of course, is about, who else, but J!?
J is my little primadona! I think it's his spunk that makes him stand out. When he was a few months old he got cast to play Baby Aaron on LOST. At that time, they were so excited to use him, because he was going to be the first baby boy they actually were using to play the baby boy on the show. All of the other babies they used were girls. Why you may ask? Well, girls are usually smaller then boys, therefor making it possible to use older baby girls to play a younger baby boy... Did I loose you?

Anyway, J grew big and fast. The past couple months I have been in cahoots with the casting of LOST looking for chunky, cute little haole babies to keep on playing baby Aaron. Hollywood (or Oahu as the case may be) is a cruel world. You grow a pound, you are out of the club. So, they need new babies like crazy!! I guess they figured since I am white, I happen to know every white person, who ever has a white baby born on the island, because they keep calling every few weeks.
I missed a call yesterday, and checked my messages. Julie from casting called and wanted updated pictures of J. I was confused, and thought maybe they dialed the wrong number, because I have been in contact with them back and forth since J was four months, and they know J is too big now. I called back, and she told me that they, indeed, wanted to check out J again. They were in the need of a bigger baby for next week.
Now, as a side note, we must back up and discuss this. I have a major love/hate (more hate then love) with LOST. They lost me clear back on the second season (no pun intended). For any of you who watch the show, you know that Baby Aaron in the recent "flash forwards" (is that what you even call them!??) was some random 2 or 3 year old. What the heck?? That was so annoying to me. So, if just these last few weeks they have still been using little tiny babies to play the baby Aaron that is still on the island, and then all of a sudden they had some giant child playing baby Aaron for the flash forwards, then why do they want to use my 9 month old as a potential Aaron human? Where does that fit? Hmmm... I am sensing some craziness coming up on the show. Whatever. Stupid LOST. Always jumping here and there. I'm so over you.
I waited until J woke up from his nap, and just tried to snap a picture. Of course every picture he looked ridicules, making all sorts of weird faces. So what did I do? I sent them all in. "Sorry he looks weird. He wouldn't act normal. Let me know what you're thinking..." Julie called back, "Oh he is perfect! He is still just so stinkin' cute! We would love to use him, he has such a great personality! Can you come down on Tuesday?"
I'm so not a Hollywood crazed stage Mom in the least. We really just stumbled upon all this. I figure we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It's all been in good fun. So, sorry to say, but when Julie started to say, "...he has really great hair!!..." is right about when it all came to a screeching halt. "...would you be willing to cut his hair?" No way. Over. My. Dead. Body.
So, maybe some day J will kill me for not cutting his hair to give him 30 seconds of fame, but we will cross that bridge when we get there. Julie said she really wants to use him, but they would have a hard time finding a double (they book all the babies 2 or 3 at a time: remember, the hard life of Hollywood I was talking about earlier? If the baby cries, there is no patience--in one baby, out the other!) because J has so much hair for his age. I love my J the way he his, homeless-looking-child-hair and all! I don't want to cut his hair, and don't intend on doing it any time soon. Sorry LOST, and while I'm at it, sorry BYUH for having a child "out of standards". He may not be a movie star any time soon, but he's my furry little monkey, and I LOVE IT.
I told her to call back if she changes her mind.
These are the pictures I sent.

J looks EXACTLY like Nate in the first picture.
ReplyDeleteAs for your blogging... all I want is to see updated pictures of you, Chris, and J. You guys make me smile! :)
Wow, J does have a lot of hair!! How cute is that! I was going to ask you if he did ever show up on the show and what show he was on. They "lost" me too a while back, maybe when it's all over and actually has an ending I'll watch through it. I'm sure he will forgive you...
ReplyDeleteToo bad! I wouldn't cut his hair either! My little Maddox would be perfect for the part though, he has no hair!!
ReplyDeleteCut his hair you wuss...it'll grow back.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute...growing so fast!
ReplyDeleteAt least they didnt ask J to lose a few pounds. That's what they told Paige when she tried out for America's Next Top Baby Model. She's gonna have to get some thick skin if she wants to make it in Hollywood. Just kidding. J is a really cute kid! I love his hair.
ReplyDeleteIt's Hollywood.....cant the hair and make-up crew make a baby bald cap for him! geesh!
ReplyDeleteHA! I love this post. Lost has no clue what they've just done. The the record company who first 'passed' on the Beatles. I'm proud of you for standing up for his hair, Mom. Remember this when he's 15 and you want him to cut his hair and he says: No way. Over. My. Dead. Body. and just keep smiling!
