It has been a life long goal for Chris, to get J to say "Dada" before "Mama". Whatever.
He isn't even fair about it, either. Every time that I look at J and say, "J say Mama!" Chris will pipe in with, "No. J say Dada!" So lame. If you are going to fight, at least fight fair. Anyway, the other morning, I lovingly take J out of his crib, and he looks deep into my eyes and says..."DADA! DADA!"
Break my heart. You little bum. Both of you! Chris AND J. I try to explain to Chris that rightfully so, J should say Mama first. Afterall, I was the one who ever so willingly bore him all those months, and birthed him. However, Chris wasn't giving me any slack.
So now whenever I look at J, and say, "J say Mama!" Chris has him trained so well that almost instantly, he goes off saying, "Dada Dada Dada!" All day long, as he is happily crawling through out the house, what does he say? Mama? No. Dada.
I loose. Whatever Chris. You win.
Next time, because I wouldn't want you to feel left out, you can be the one to get pregnant, and do the super awesome fun thing called "labor". Afterall, as you keep telling me, "All is fair in love and war."
J makes the most awesomeist faces. I love it.
ReplyDeleteJust tell Chris that he can change the diapers until he gets on the bandwagon of helping J say Mama. That should work! :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I just crack up at every one of your posts! What a good writer you are. If it makes you feel better, I think 99.9% of babies say dada first! If he's THINKING he means mama when he says dada, YOU win!
ReplyDeleteI am with shelly. He is thinking of mama when he says dada!
ReplyDeletep.s. love and miss the caf.
ReplyDeleteaww.... how sad! chris is heartless... i wonder how you would feel if the roles were switched! :) your J is so cute!!!! how are you guys doing? we miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteOh so sad! Moms never get the credit they deserve dang it!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you I saw the most adorable neckless on the Etsy web site that had a silver pendant with just the letter "J" engraved on it. I thought "this would be sooo cute for Taylor!" Anyway you should check it out:)
i'll call you mama!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great post! My boys were all the same. I think they only say dada first because it is easier to say. But when they are up to the mental challange then they say mama. I love your post!
ReplyDeleteCody is awesome
ReplyDeleteI've also heard that most babies say "Dada" first. I guess you can take comfort in the idea that J will be using his noggin when he learns to say "Mama."
ReplyDeleteI love your blogs. You should post more often... :)
this is funny because jayden said dada first too, but then all of the sudden one day he quit saying dada and only said mama...Trev was less than thrilled. then he started calling me mama and trev Mum ma (K, I don't know how to spell it but it was different than what he called me and it meant daddy) I thought it was so hilarious and so back in his face! (trev's that is) then he started calling me "molly" which lasted for about a month...I was WAY less than thrilled. and now we are offcially "mommy and daddy" It's so fun! I love all the new words!
