So, I thought it was rather funny when some time last week we ran into someone that hadn't seen J in a while. She took one look at him and said,
"He is so scrawny! My little girl could totally take him!"
I was dumbfounded. I literally had no idea what to say. So, stupidly, I did just that: said nothing. I just stood there looking at her. First off, what a weird thing for someone to say! Second, J is anything BUT scrawny.

*J at six weeks*
If you want to get technical, he has always been in 110th percentile for his height, and in the 80th percentile for his weight. So, it's not like he is some Ethiopian starving child. It's not that I have some weird complex about thinking I'm superior for having some super baby or anything, it's just that I haven't ever heard him referred to as scrawny before. I just thought it was funny!
Then the other day when we had his last doctor’s appointment, his usual doctor was out of town, and so they scheduled us with the other pediatrician in the building. He was a strange man, but nice. When he looked at J, he said,
"Now this is a big kid! He is in the 6'7 range at this point--- just how you want them!! You don't want your boys to be less than 6 feet tall. That's just not right. Real men should definitely be over 6 feet tall! So, this kid will have some height on him. He obviously didn't get that from his father!"
And yes, Chris was sitting right next to me in the room. And yes, Chris is definitely under six feet tall. And yes, Chris is a "real man".

Hahaha! How did Chris react to that one? Geez...
ReplyDeleteHa!! That is so funny!! I can't believe that he said that! Way funny! I would never say J was scrawny!! I love his blonde hair, good hair styling mommy!
ReplyDeletePeople just need to keep their mouths closed. The other day someone thought Zoe was 4 months old and when I told her she was 10 months, she also thought she was small for her age. The girl is 20+ pounds. I'd like to see the kids these people are talking about!!
