Look out for that....wall

So, early on Monday morning, I wake up to Chris saying, "Here Taylor. Phone for you. Nate got in a motorcycle accident and needs you to pick him up..." "What the?" Ya. J was still sleeping, so I had to quietly pack him up, and we were out the door.
My brother was driving his motorcycle on the way to work. It started raining, and sure enough, going around a turn, he lost control and ended up smashing into a cement wall before skidding between the bike and the road. Sigh.

It was a long/stressful day, spent in the ER. They eventually got him all x-rayed, cleaned up, and we were on our way. He didn't have any broken bones (thankfully), and he is still alive (even more thankfully!). J was SO patient! He didn't think it was very awesome, at all, to have to sit on my lap the whole time, but was so so good. He loved all the extra attention, being passed around from one nurse to the next...

Anyway, poor brother. However, this is turning out to be pretty good---he got hurt enough that he never, EVER wants to ride a motorcycle again (hint, hint, Chris!!!), but not hurt enough for permanent damage. Good thing that no one else got hurt. Plus, because he totalled his only for of transportation, and can't walk right now, he is camping out at our house until he gets back on his feet (literally), so we are liking having him around more. Things like this make you take a second to really appreciate all that is good in life.

Trying to keep J occupied

  1. So happy we still get to celebrate a wedding and not attend a funeral. Those stupid motorcycles! What a blessing he's ok.

  3. I'm glad Nate was okay! It's hard to read about his accident and see the pictures of his scrapes... and then send my own husband off to work on a motorcycle. Andy insists that he is careful and will never get into an accident... of course they all say that, don't they?!
